I held out for as long as I could

But in the end, the relentless pressure from my buddy Rob was just to much. I couldn't take it anymore....so I broke down and did it. I signed up for Facebook!

The whole motivation for doing so was so I could play Mafia Wars with Rob. You know I enjoy a good game as much as the next guy but this Mafia Wars thing is just toxicly(sic) addicting. You rob a couple of pimps, buy a baseball bat and collect a few loans and the next thing you know you are investing in a couple of sawed off shotguns and a delivery truck so you can hijack semi's. I think I am hooked! You might want to check it out....

The whole Facebook thing is actually kind of cool. I have heard from a bunch of people that I haven't talked to in a very long time. Mostly high school and college friends. The one that surprised me most was Lonnie Fox. (Those of you who might have been listening to KWAY in Waverly in the 1988-1991 time frame may remember the name. He was the guy on the air before me.) It has just been kind of fun catching up with folks. The novelty may wear off.....

Carlos Santana

Ok . So I dug out my copy of Santana's "Sacred Fire" the other day. It is a live disc from his 1993 South American tour. It is pretty sweet.....has some different arrangements of some great tunes....If you have never checked it out, I would encourage you to do so.

Anyway, it occurred to me as I was listening to it tonight that once you have said "Oye Como Va.......... Felipe"

What more do you need to say?

Iron Chef......Ok Swedish chef maybe!

I was pulling some pictures off the phone this morning and ran across one that I had completely forgotten taking.  Seeing it made me grin! So I will share it and its story with you.

It was a dark and stormy night........well it was dark anyway.  I had a couple/few IPA's in me and decided I was going to do something with the leftover Thanksgiving turkey. So I decided I would whip out a little turkey-broccoli-cheddar pot pie.

I broke out the trusty Walgreen's cookbook (aptly titled Prescriptions for Good Taste ) and found the recipe.  I combined the cream cheese with the turkey and the broccoli , filled the crust, and oh so carefully put the top crust on. I popped it in the oven and the top off of a beer. I got to screwing around on the computer thinking that Bobby Flay would be in trouble if he wanted to throw down with me! The timer went off so I went to pull the pie out of the oven. I glanced over at the counter and damned if the cheddar that was supposed to be inside the pie wasn't still sitting there.  It seemed to me that the only rational course of action available  was to pile all that cheese on top of the pie and introduce it to Mr. Broiler.  So that is what I did.

Turkey Broocoli Cheddar

It was actually pretty tasty............
